Poor performance Microsoft Excel 2016/2019/365

The Microsoft Office applications version 2016 and higher require a lot of hardware resources, especially in a Citrix Virtual Apps or Remote Desktop environment. This can result in poor Excel performance. There is one good way to solve this, and that is to expand your hardware with dedicated GPU cards. However, this is expensive. Alternatively, a setting can be changed in Microsoft Office, after which the performance of Excel improves considerably.
The setting is called “Do not use hardware graphics acceleration”. The setting must be enabled so that hardware acceleration is disabled. The setting can be set with a user policy.
